At the WorkBC Centre we offer a range of FREE services to assist you in finding the right job for you! Whether you need support exploring career options or assistance with your job search, WorkBC staff have the resources you need to succeed!
WorkBC Resource Centre
Resources available include:
- Access to computers; high speed internet; photocopying and scanning
- Faxing; phone and messaging services
- Job postings; online job search resources; career assessments; labour market information; and, information about other community services/resources.
Qualified staff are available in the resource centre to provide job seekers with individualized support.
Job Search Support
Our Employment Placement Specialists will work with you on a one to one basis with a view to marketing you/your skillset to employers in the community.
While participating in your WorkBC job search you will gain access to WorkBC’s network of employers, professional resume writing support, coaching on interviewing and networking, and assistance related to the negotiation of terms/conditions of your employment.
WorkBC offers a range of workshops for job seekers who want to learn more about how to best position themselves to find work. Other workshops are available to support you in preparing for employment, such as Basic Life or Essential Works Skills.
Finally, once you’ve got the job, workshops are available to help you learn more about how to succeed and develop in your career.
At WorkBC, qualified staff are available to provide you with individualized career planning, job search coaching, guidance and access to training, assistance securing work experience opportunities, and many other supports you may need in your job search journey.
Depending on your individual needs and eligibility, Work BC staff can work with you and local employers to set-up paid or unpaid work experiences that is just the right fit.

WorkBC offers Skills Training opportunities for Job Seekers who don’t yet have the necessary skills, or who require upgrading to find work in specific in-demand industries in BC. These job seekers may qualify for funding for tuition, books/supplies, living supports, dependent care, and transportation.

Individuals in the program have access to customized supports and job coaching, workshops on job success and career development, as well as 52 weeks of follow up support from after their job start date.

The Self-Employment program assists you to develop and implement a business plan and provides you with individualized coaching throughout the launch of your business. In addition to the free training, funding may be available for living supports, dependent care, transportation and disability supports while getting started.
